The Different Ways To Earn JetBlue TrueBlue Points
The Different Tiers Of JetBlue's TrueBlue Program
How To Spend JetBlue TrueBlue PointsJetBlue's TrueBlue Program: What Are The Hidden Perks?
In May, JetBlue announced that it has completely overhauled its TrueBlue mileage program to offer more clarity and better benefits for members. The once single-tier Mosaic status now has four levels, and the airline offers perks to travelers before they reach elite status. Here's what you need to know.
Earning Mosaic status
JetBlue has moved away from an elite qualifying points system to a simple spend-based system to determine Mosaic status. You need 50 Tiles to achieve Mosaic 1 (more on that later), which is earned in the following two ways:
- 1 Tile earned for every $100 spent on JetBlue or American Airlines flights, vacation packages, or ancillary bookings with the airline
- 1 Tile earned for every $1,000 spent on any JetBlue credit card

In theory, you could earn Mosaic 1 status by spending $5,000 with JetBlue in a calendar year, unlocking all of the usual priority benefits. However, if you put a decent amount of money into a credit card, TrueBlue might now be one of the easiest programs to earn status within the US.
Benefits of Mosaic status when flying JetBlue
The main reason to hold elite status is for benefits and preferential treatment when flying with that airline. JetBlue now has four levels (not tiers) of status, Mosaic 1 gets you the following:
- Early boarding
- Priority check-in and security
- Complimentary same-day flight change.
- Two free checked bags.
- Complimentary alcoholic beverages in the main cabin.
- Select extra legroom seats at check-in (if available)
- One 'Perks You Pick'

What's new since this summer is three more tiers of Mosiac, aptly named Mosiac 2, 3, and 4. With 100 Tiles, you get Mosiac 2, which includes:
- Select Extra Legroom Seats at booking
- One more 'Perks You Pick'
Mosiac 3, unlocked at 150 Tiles, is where things get very interesting. You'll get:
- Four 'Move To Mint' upgrade certificates
- Dedicated phone support
- One more 'Perks You Pick'
Finally, there's Mosaic 4, the highest elite tier with JetBlue and one that probably has the most unique perks of any program in the US:
- Two more 'Move to Mint' certificates
- Four one-way BLADE Airport transfers between JFK/EWR and Manhattan
- One more 'Perks You Pick'

'Perks You Pick' are available every time you move up a Mosaic tier, with a maximum of four in total every year. They include:
- Pet Fee Waiver on all flights (usually $125 per flight)
- $99 one-time statement credit
- 20 Tile bonus
- 15,000 point bonus
- Mint Suite Priority (choose your Suite before check-in for free, excludes Mint Studio)
- IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status (coming in 2024)
- Gift 20 Tiles (coming in 2024)
JetBlue is also changing the way upgrades work in 2024. Until January 3rd, 2024, upgrade certificates are applied automatically during check-in unless you opt out, with one needed for domestic routes and two for transatlantic certificates. Come January 4th, members can choose to upgrade immediately after purchasing a Core (economy) ticket through Manage Booking. However, the number of certificates will vary by "flight price," meaning while availability increases, you could end up using more of your 4 to 6 certificates for each upgrade.
Benefits before you reach status
As we noted at the start, JetBlue is looking to reward travelers for pretty much any travel they do with the carrier.

For every 10 Tiles earned, up to 50 (Mosaic), you can choose one of the following benefits:
- Early boarding in Group B (not on Blue Basic fares)
- Priority security
- First alcoholic drink free (21+)
- 2x points on any one JetBlue vacation booking
- 5,000 point bonus.
Benefits of Mosaic status with partners
JetBlue TrueBlue has a bespoke network of partner airlines. As it is not part of any main airline alliances, there is no automatic entitlement to alliance benefits. The end of the Northeast Alliance with American means you can no longer visit Admirals Clubs or request complimentary upgrades, a big hit to members who enjoyed these perks.
However, JetBlue is making steps towards a global presence. In addition to its transatlantic services, its partnership with Qatar Airways now includes spending points on redemptions, a huge step forward for members. While prices aren't the most lucrative, it offers a chance to enjoy global travel with TrueBlue points.
