Amy Annette Sherman Amy Annette Sherman, a volunteer for church and charitable orgaE nizations, died April 4 at Fallston General Hospital.
Mrs. Sherman, 62, in Fallston. A member of Fallston United Methodist Church, she served as a church youth counselor. In addition, she was past vice president and secretary for the Harford County Cystic Fibrosis Chapter and worked at the Harford Center. Mrs.
Sherman was born in Latrobe, the daughter of the late James and Marion Neale McCallister. She is survived by her husband, Alphus H. "Jack" Sherman; four children, Amy J. Heitmuller of Delta, Lois L. Altimus of Summerville, S.C., Michael W.

Ryan, an Aberdeen resident for more than 20 years, died April 4 in an automobile accident on Ebenezer Road in the Chase area. She was 43. A claims receptionist for the GEICO Insurance Company for more than 17 years, Mrs. Ryan worked in the Towson office as a claims representative. She was very interested in genealogy and was editor of the Ely Heritage, a quarterly magazine for descendants of the founder of the copper mining town of Ely, Nev.
The publication is distributed throughout the United States and overseas. A graduate of Overlea High School, she attended the University of Baltimore. After college, Mrs. Ryan was a substitute teacher and worked for Hutzler's department stores before joining GEICO. She was a member of St.
Patrick Church in Havre de Grace. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Charles Brengle of Chase and the late Frances Brengle. She moved to Harford County when she married her husband, John D. Ryan, a lifelong resident of the county who is plant superintendent at the Pimlico Race Course. In addition to her father and husband, Mrs.
Ryan is survived by a brother, Charles Brengle III of Bel Air; and two sisters, Betty Poole of Jarrettsville and Margaret Brengle of Chase. Services were held April 7 at the Connelly Funeral Home in Essex with the Right Rev. William T. McCrory officiating. Burial was in Holly Hill Cemetery.

OBITUARIES Winifred H. Johnson Winifred Hawkins Johnson, 87, of Bel Air, died on April 5 at University of Maryland Hospital. She was the wife of the late Melvin P. Johnson. Born at Meadowvale" Thomas Run, she was the daughter of the late Charles Stanton Hawkins and Georgia Welty Forwood.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Bel Air United Methodist Church for over 70 years, a charter member of the Maryland Golf and Country Club, and a member of the Governor William Paca chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by one son, Melvin Carl Johnson of Bel Air; one daughter, Blevins of Pylesville; one granddaughter, Lynne J. Wilkie of Ellicott City; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, and one sister, Dorothy Starr of Fallston. She was the grandmother of the late Christopher Carl Johnson.

Hizer, died in 1983. She was the daughter of the late Bartlett and Ida M. Shane Ford. Mrs. Hizer is survived by a son, Robert A.

Walker Katherine E. Walker, 77, of Fallston, died April 9 at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. A homemaker, Mrs. Walker was a member of the Jarrettsville Homemakers. She formerly belonged to the Mountain Christian and Grandview Christian churches.
Prior to moving to Harford County about ten years ago, she lived in Baltimore County. She was the wife of Henry E. Walker, a Harford County native, who died in 1969. Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Samuel S. and Emma Heller Gormer.
Mrs. Walker is survived by a daughter, Kathy E. Smith of Fallston; two brothers, Samuel and Robert Gormer, both of Cumberland, and two grandchildren. Services were scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12 at the William E.

Foard taught school in Bethlehem, an area near Jarrettsville, Fountain Green and Chestnut Hill, 1 near Forest Hill. A long-time member of the Emory United Methodist Church in Street, she was active with the United Methodist Women. She taught Sunday School for many years. Affectionately known as "Grandma," she was the daughter of the late Hezekiah and Ella Webb Huff. Mrs.

Born in O'Neill, Mrs. Reising was a graduate of Wayne State Teachers College and was a kindergarten teacher in the Gary, public school system for 35 years. After her retirement and the death of her husband, Otto Reising, she moved to Bel Air where she lived until 1988. Mrs. Reising is survived by three daughters, Ellen Morrison of Los Altos, Fran Bartell of Bel Air, Madge Reising of Baltimore; three sons, Paul Reising of Moraga, Tom Reising of Oak Forest, Greg Reising of Gary, a sister, Loretto Laue of Portage, two brothers, John Phalin of Van Nuys, Cal.

Poist Wilbur B. Poist, the ager of the maintenance department at Harford Memorial Hospital, died unexpectedly April 5 at his home in Havre de Grace. He was 69. A native of Cecil County, Mr. Poist was the son of the late Charles Shure and Jessie Jackson Poist.
He and his wife were divorced. Mr. Poist is survived by two sons, Charles Poist of North Carolina and Kenneth Poist of Havre de Grace; a daughter, Rosemary Kell of Timonium; three sisters, Nellie Crozier of New Castle, Eva Ledman of Havre de Grace, Marguerite Samis of Delaware; three brothers, Donald Poist of Havre de Grace, Curtis Poist of Port Deposit and Austin Poist of Delaware, and three grandchildren. John Andrew Lochary John Andrew Lochary, 49, of Lutherville, an engineering supervisor for the Telephone Company, died after an apparent heart attack March 31 at Christiana Hospital in Delaware.
A employee for 28 years, he was a Baltimore native and a 1958 graduate of Mount St. Joseph High School. He served in the Navy in the early 1960s. Mr. Lochary coached and officiated in youth football and baseball programs for the Loch Raven Recreation Council.
He also enjoyed boating in the bay area of Ocean City. He was the son of John and Frances Lochary of Timonium. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Judith M. Blair Lochary; a son, Stephen A. Lochary of Ocean City; a daughter, Laurie M.

Edna Florence Groves Edna Florence Groves, 83, of Abingdon, died April 5 at Sinai Hospital. Mrs. Groves, a member of the Wilna Seventh Day Adventists, was born in Baltimore. She was the wife of the late Charles M. Groves.

Services will be held at noon today (Wednesday) at the Howard K. McComas III Funeral Home, P.A. Burial will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
The pallbearers will be Paul Worthington, Robert Seaman, Arthur Mayfield, Michael Seaman, Joseph Smyth and Arthur Mayfield Jr..
