Experienced Anglers Wanted For Coastal Fisheries Bay Team Tournaments

If you would like to make a concrete contribution to Texas saltwater hatchery efforts, and have a bunch of fun while you are at it, check your calendar for upcoming Coastal Fisheries Bay Team events. Through this year’s program, volunteers will catch, and contribute, spotted seatrout (speckled trout) and southern flounder for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s hatchery breeding program.

Each Coastal Fisheries Bay Team tournament is open to up to 60 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration takes place on-site the day of each tournament. There is no entry fee, but all entrants must be 21 years of age or older.

At each tournament, anglers who donate fish will be entered in drawings to win prizes provided by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation. Prizes include: a Shimano Calcutta 200B baitcasting reel on a Texas Tackle Factory rod; a Garmin Etrex GPS unit; a Boga Grip fish-weighing device, and; a Cruxis reel.
