Cabela’s Buda Location Captain’s Weekend Jan. 26– Jan. 27
Once again this year, Cabela’s Buda retail location is hosting its ever-popular “Captain’s Weekend” this coming Saturday and Sunday, January 24 – February 3. This year’s lineup is a virtual “Who’s-Who” of Texas saltwater specialists, and I can guarantee you that as such it’s well worth your time. Anyone who walks away from this event without an improved capacity to catch coastal gamefish species wasn’t paying much attention.
Some two dozen of the Texas coast’s best captains and guides will be on hand. Find out more about the when and where of Texas saltwater fishing from the experts who know. Collectively, these pros represent an unparalleled wealth of knowledge when it comes to fishing Texas saltwater anywhere between Sabine Pass and the Brownsville Ship Channel. Captains and guides will be on hand from Port Isabel, South Padre Island, Corpus Christi, Ports Aransas and Mansfield, Rockport, Freeport, Galveston and Port O’Connor.
A schedule full of seminars each day will highlight each captain’s specialty, from live bait to lures to best conditions for the catch. Representatives from tackle manufacturers will also be on hand to answer questions and showcase the newest products for successful saltwater fishing.

Bobby Casky, manager of the world-class flats and offshore fishing world-class facility Shoal Grass Lodge; Capt. Ryan McLaughlin of Dolphin Docks in Port Aransas; Capt. Charlie Buchen of Port-Mansfield-based Tail Chaser Charters and Captains Don and Petra Schultz, owners of Green Hornet Guide Service and Fishing Lodge in Rockport, Texas.
