Another great event is on the schedule at Cabela’s Buda location, one that promises to provide what’s arguably the ultimate one-site venue for saltwater angling enthusiasts who want to learn coastal fishing from some of the state’s leading authorities.

Up to 25 of the Texas Coast’s top captains and guides will be on site at Cabela’s retail store in Buda January 20-21. Says Jo Anna Ivey of Cabela’s, “We’ll have captains and guides on hand from up and down the coast …  Port Isabel, South Padre Island, Corpus Christi, Ports Aransas and Mansfield, Rockport, Freeport, Galveston and Port O’Connor.

“A schedule full of seminars each day will give each captain a thorough opportunity to cover his specialty and answer everyone’s questions,” Ivey adds. “The pros will cover everything from live bait to artificial lures to prime locales and conditions for various species of fish. Representatives from tackle manufacturers will also be on hand to answer questions and showcase the newest products on the market for successful saltwater fishing.”

This event is, in a seashell, an excellent way to get the New Year’s saltwater season off to an excellent and exciting start. Appearances by pros from various regions are being finalized at the time of this post.
